'Bongo'
1981, Water color and gouache on paper, 27" x 35"

BACK MUSEUM TOUR NEXT

Bongo is my aborted son who waits for me somewhere between Earth and hell.

He is waiting there for me to die so he can have his revenge upon me for forcing his mother to have him torn from her womb.

His mothers last words to me were this curse as she went screaming into the operating room.

His physical body was thrown in a garbage can behind an abortion clinic in the Mission district of San Francisco in 1976.

I never saw or heard from the mother again ... Her name was 'Sabina'. She was an illegal emigrant from a Middle Eastern country.
